Christmas class cards

I spent a lovely evening with my ladies on friday making Christmas cards.

These cards were made using the Stampin' Up! 'Contempo Christmas' stamp set. A lovely set containing two images and two sentiments and great value at only £12.95 clear and £15.95 woodmount.

The first card was so simple to make. Basic stamping and matting and layering with Old Olive and Rose Red card and inks and a strip of designer series paper in rose red.

The next card was also very simple and i CASE'd the idea from a card designed by my lovely upline Val. I just changed the colours used.
We used the Stampin' Around jumbo wheel 'Sparkling' with crumb cake ink for the background on Whisper white card. Real Red ink was used for the stamping and we used the ornament punch to make light work of cutting out the ornaments on these cards.
A piece of Real Red grosgrain ribbon completed the card.

My next card was slightly more complex as we had a go at heat embossing!

We used Very Vanilla card and the Stampin' Around jumbo 'So Swirly' wheel to create the background. We inked up the wheel using  a Versamark watermark pad and heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder.
The ornament and sentiment are stamped using Real Red ink. The backgound card is also Real red.
Finally, we added Real Red satin ribbon.

For the last card we used an Old Olive background card. A piece of Cherry Cobler cardstock comes next with a strip of Very Vanilla, rounded with the corner rounder punch.

Next a piece of stripy 'Jolly Holiday' designer paper was punched using the Scallop Trim border punch.

The ornaments stamped with Cherry Cobbler and Real Red ink were applied using dimensionals.

Finally some gold thread and gold glitter add a bit of Christmas sparkle.

We will be meeting again for some more Christmas crafting and friendly chatter again soon.

Thankyou for visiting.

It's a bit Autumnal out there!

Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons, generally because they are colourful and the weather is not extreme. But then the winds came!

So in celebration of Autumn ( but not the wind!) i decided to make an autumnal themed card.

The stamp set used is Stampin' Up!'s 'Lovely as a tree'.

On a cream base card i added a layer of 'More Mustard' card stock.
Very Vanilla card stock was then stamped with the large 'En francais' stamp, using More Mustard ink.

The vertical border is made by punching a strip of  Cajun craze card stock with the scallop trim border punch. I then added Early Expresso 1/8th" taffeta ribbon.

The horizontal border is made using the scallop trim border punch. Textured Cajun craze card stock forms the top layer.A thinner strip of early expresso card again punched forms the layer behind.

The two images were inked up with both Cajun craze and More mustard ink and stamped onto Very vanilla card. They were then matted onto More Mustard card stock and applied to the card using dimensionals for a raised effect.

Right, i think i need to lift the mood a bit with some card making using some nice bright colours.

Hopefully this wind will disappear soon and we might get some sunshine back. Well I can hope!

ILWS Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the ILWS Blog Hop.
Thankyou for joining me from Sarah-Jane's Blog. There have been lots of fabulous projects so far and more to come. If you want to start at the beginning of the hop then go to Alisons Blog.

One of my favourite stamp sets has to be 'Fresh cuts' and i just had to use this set for my project today.

Starting with a white base card i stamped the vine flower image in a vertical line using my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig and versamark watermark pad. I embossed the image using Stampin' emboss' white powder. Then using Bashful Blue ink and sponge daubers i sponged the ink lightly over the embossed area to give a resist effect.

For the next layer i used the 'en francais' stamp and Bashful Blue ink again. This was matted onto Night of Navy cardstock.
I added Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon, (which is also retiring).

The main image was stamped using Night of Navy ink onto Whisper white cardstock. Then i set to with my sponge daubers and ink again to lightly place colour onto the image. I used Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight ink for this. Although you can't see very well from the photo i added some shimmer mist spray for sparkle.

Finally the sentiment from the set was stamped using Night of Navy again and placed onto a scallop oval punched from! ( you guessed it!), Night of Navy!

For my next card i used the same colour theme although this time i used textured Very Vanilla cardstock as my background.

The vine image was stamped in Night of Navy this time again with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig.

The main image was coloured in more deeply this time. I used my waterbrush and Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery and Old Olive ink pads.  Sponge daubers and Night of Navy ink provided a softer sponged look to the top and left of the image.
I distressed the edges this time and mounted onto textured Very Vanilla cardstock and then onto a night of Navy Mat.
I added the sentiment as before and three small flowers.
Basic pearls finish off the card.

Right, that is all from me. I hope you like them.

Now it's time to move on to Sally's Blog for some more lovely creations.

So swirly card

I must apologise for my crafty absence yet again. The last week of the school summer holidays is always a frantic time in our household.

As three of my kiddies have now gone back to school normal service should soon resume.

I have a card for you today using the 'so swirly' wheel, which i am sad to say is retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalogue.

The base card is white textured cardstock and the bottom corners are rounded to give a softer edge.

I rolled the Stampin' Up! wheel, 'So Swirly'  using Daffodil Delight ink over So Saffron textured cardstock for the top layer.  I added the ' for you' sentiment from the 'Fresh cuts' stamp set, (which is also retiring) in Concord Crush ink.

The bottom layer is made using Concord Crush cardstock embossed  using the square latticed textured embossing folder.

The three flowers were stamped with the level one hostess stamp set, 'Punch pot pourri' (also retiring) and Daffodil Delight ink. They were punched out using the 'Boho Blossoms' punch. Basic pearls finish off the flowers.

Whisper White Satin Ribbon finishes off the card.

This was a very simple card to make and the textured cardstock and embossing  make it less plain.

The retiring products are selling out fast now and i will really miss that 'So Swirly' wheel.

Looking on the bright side, there will be lots of new products available in the new Stampin' Up! 2011-2012 catalogue which commences on the 1st October.

I have the new catalogues arriving soon so contact me to obtain yours and join in with all the excitement!

Take care
