More male cards using our little owl friend!

Hello again.
Its a lovely blue sky day out there even if it is cold!

I have my last male birthday card to show you today.
My kids love this little owl and he is going to get so much use over the years!
The background card is Early Expresso. On top of this i placed a piece of Crumb Cake card which i have embossed using the Stripes embossing folder through the Big Shot.

I have used the Petite Pennants Builder Punch to make the banner. Stamping onto Crumb Cake cardstock. The papers i have used for the banner and on the owl are the gorgeous 'Mocha Morning Speciality' papers. The stripes are perfect for men!

Mr Owl is made using Soft Suede, Vanilla and Early Expresso cardstock. The Always Artichoke leaves were punched out using the Bird Builder punch. His drink was cut out freehand.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Create a cupcake stamp set. I stamped it using Early Expresso ink and mounted it onto a piece of early Expresso cardstock punched out using the Modern Label punch.

So altogether a very quick easy card.

Now i am looking forward to making some cards using my new Sale-a-bration stamp sets.

Take care and thank you for visiting.

Another male card

Hi there!

As promised i have another male themed card for you. This is one i made for my son to give my husband for his birthday.

Now the design for this card is based on one we made at our quarterly training. The original version was designed by the lovely Monica Gale. I have tweaked it a little to make it man-friendly!

The stamp set i have used for the main image and the sentiment is called 'Create a Cupcake'.
This is a great new set from the new mini catalogue and has a new co-ordinating cupcake builder punch to go with it.

The base card is Soft Suede. I have used my Stampin' Around 'textured' wheel with Soft Suede ink on the edges of the card.

A strip of Soft Suede spotty DSP was placed on a piece of Early Expresso card of which i have punched the lower edge with the Scallop Border Punch. I stamped the sentiment using Early Expresso ink.

The cupcake case was stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.
I punched out the image with the small scalloped circle punch. The frosting was stamped with Soft Suede ink(to get the lighter inked image i stamped firstly onto my grid paper and then, without re-inking, i stamped it straight onto vanilla card). The sprinkles were stamped on top using Soft Suede ink. This was then punched out using the cupcake builder punch and applied using a dimensional.

The Soft Suede label behind the cupcake was made using the decorative label punch. I ran the Stampin' Around 'textured' wheel over this too.

To finish i used a small button from my SU retired neutrals button stash and some linen thread.

Such a quick easy card to make.

Thanks for looking and take care.

Birthday card for a man

Good morning!
I hope today finds you all a little warmer. It has been almost too cold to go into my crafty conservatory and craft over the last few days, however, thanks to my heater, i did manage to get in there to make a birthday card for my husband.

I have used the gorgeous 'Mocha Morning Speciality' papers for this card. They are so lush and classy but also great for men's cards as you can see. I have had these for a while now  but they hadn't made it onto a card because i spent all my time stroking and admiring them. Some have flocking and some have metallic ink. Still, i consoled myself with the thought that i can always buy some more!

The stamped image comes from the hostess set 'Happiest Birthday Wishes', a great set of 11 ways to stamp 'Happy Birthday'. You can get this stamp set by hosting a Stampin' Up! party.
I have used early Expresso ink for all the stamping and it is also the card stock colour.

The vanilla background card was distressed around the edges using Early Expresso ink.

I have embossed the card mats using the square lattice folder- another brilliant one for men!
The border was made using the scallop trim border punch and i added some linen thread and a glimmer brad.

The husband sentiment was punched out using the word window punch and mounted onto a modern label punched out background. Finally two expresso brads finish it off.

I do have some more men's cards to show you as i had to make a couple of cards for two of my children to give him. The other children insisted on making his cards themselves- they have caught the crafting bug too!

Thanks for looking and take care

Love, Love, Love!

What No Easter Blossoms!!!

Well it will soon be that time of year. Only a month away! So it was time to play with the new 'Perfect Postage' stamp set from the new spring mini which has the perfect stamp for Valentines day.

I did two versions of the card. One female orientated and one male orientated (because we know how difficult it is to do cards for our men!!).

The first card has a white base and i have used the rose designer paper from the Holly berry Bouquet DSP and yes, it is the Christmas themed set, but it is so versatile, you can use quite a few of the sheets for non- Christmas projects!

The Real Red borders are made using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.
I have stamped the heart stamp image using Real Red ink and punched it out with the new 'Postage Stamp' punch. This is a great new punch to have.
These were mounted onto textured Real Red squares punched out using the Scalloped Square punch.
Next small hearts were punched out and covered with crystal effects for some glam shine!

Finally the sentiment is from the easy events set. I have mounted it using the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label punch with a couple of basic rhinestones to finish.

The male themed card is made in exactly the same way but i have used paper from the new 'Spice Cake' DSP set and used Very Vanilla card instead.

I will be bringing you more cards using products from the new mini catalogue soon. I really am loving these new stamp sets and punches. We have three new punches in this catalogue.
For more information on the mini please click on the link in the side bar at the top of the page to see for yourself.

Have fun browsing and hopefully crafting too!

More Easter Blossoms!

Well, i am so sorry but i just cannot stop using this set at the moment!

I attended a Demo Quarterly training day yesterday in Peterborough and had a great time meeting fellow demonstrators and having a crafty time using products from the new mini-catalogue. These training days are run by the most talented and wonderful people.

We make swaps for these training days which we 'swap' with our fellow demonstrators. I made 40 in total with two themes and a variety of colours.

The image and sentiment were both stamped using Black stazon ink and i coloured the main image using a Stampin' Up! Marina Mist marker pen.

The card base is Wisteria wonder, Whisper white and Bashful Blue.  I used the 'Elegant Bouquet' embossing folder through the big shot to emboss the floral image on the Whisper White card.

The sentiment was punched out using the oval punch and placed on a Wisteria wonder scalloped oval.
I went round the edge of the scalloped oval with the paper piercer.

Here is the same card, but using So Saffron and Baja Breeze!

The next set of cards had the sentiment changed to a birthday one. This happy birthday stamp comes from the Petite pairs stamp set from the main catalogue.

I used Basic Black for the background card on these cards.
Here is the card done using basic Black and Pretty in Pink,
Next is Basic Black with Melon Mambo,
This has to be my favourite combo!

The last card was made using Basic Black and Baja Breeze,

All images Copyright Stampin' Up! 1990-2012.

Right, i am off now for a rest (just a little one mind!) from all that stamping! I can't leave my Stampin' Up goodies for too long at the moment because i have more new stamp sets i am itching to use.
I will be back soon with some more for you.
Take care

Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the ILWS mini catalogue blog hop!
I hope you have enjoyed the lovely creations so far and are getting some inspiration for using all these fab new Stampin' Up! goodies. You should have arrived here from the very talented Theresa's Blog.

I have three cards for you today.
The first two cards are made using the new Easter Blossoms Stamp set.

The large blossoms stamp is very versatile and as you can see i have used it as the background and as the main stamped image.
The card is layered up using Basic Black and Pretty in Pink card stock. Then a strip of Basic Black card punched either side with the Scallop Trim border punch was placed towards the bottom of the card. A piece of Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon was placed on top of this and then the layered up main image applied over it.

The flower is made up using the large flower from the Boho Blossoms punch with an Antique Brad through the middle. This was placed upon a small piece of Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon and three tiny tags punched using the Jewelry tag stamped with sentiments from the Easy Events stamp set (main catalogue).

To finish it off i have added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the centre of some of the flowers but you may not be able to see it on the photograph.

My next card is very simple to make.

The background is Basic Black and Melon Mambo.
The sentiment comes from the Petite Pairs stamp set (from the main catalogue). I have stamped the blossoms image twice onto a strip of Whisper White card. The border behind this comes from using the Lace Ribbon Border punch. I cut the border in half and applied it to each edge.

My final card uses another new stamp set from the new mini catalogue.

The stamp set is called 'Charming' and has seven beautiful images.

To start with i inked up the text background stamp using Pool Party ink. Next i stamped the flower image on top using Soft Suede ink. These were stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock which i had embossed using the rectangular Designer frame embossing folder. I have torn the edges to give a distressed vintage feel. This was placed onto a Soft Suede piece of card stock. Again the edges have been torn.

The background card is made up from a Very Vanilla card base, a Pool Party layer, a Soft Suede layer and then a piece of designer paper from the new Spice Cake set. A piece of 3/8" Soft Suede taffeta ribbon was tied around the DSP before adding the main image on top.

The flower is made using the 5 petal flower punch and the large flower from the Boho blossoms punch using Pool Party, Soft Suede and More Mustard card.
An Antique brad was placed on the centre.

I noticed that on the text stamp there were the words 'inspire', 'create', and 'share'. These are the heart of Stampin' Up!'s philosophy so i thought it would be nice to include them on the card.
They were punched out using the Jewelry tag punch.

To finish off i added a small Basic Pearl to the main image.

Thank you for joining me, and now i will pass you onto the lovely Donna who has some beautiful creations for you.
