Everything Eleanor-two cards, same idea, slightly different!

Hi there.

I have gone all subtle today and a bit flowery! I hadn't used my Everything Eleanor set yet so  i thought it was time i did.

Here is the first card
I have used Pool Party, Sahara Sand and Whisper White for this card.

I stamped the swirly image and flower image randomly on a square white piece of card using the two colours.

To achieve the faux fabric look i ran it through the big shot using the Square lattice embossing folder.
Before attaching this panel to my card i tied a piece of Whisper White satin ribbon in a bow around it.

I stamped and cut out the label and used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Curly Cute stamp set.
I used Early Expresso ink for the sentiment.
Next i stamped and cut out the flowers and curled the edges before applying them to my card.
Finally i added Basic Pearls in different sizes.

I think i like the colourway on my next card the best.
Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery for the flowers and Crumb Cake for the label.

This time i haven't stamped the background, but i used a piece of DSP from the Flirtatious Speciality DSP set and embossed as before.
I arranged the flowers more widely this time and used pieces of the Celery flower as leaves in the background.

No ribbon this time, just large Pearls.

This card would also work well as a Mothers Day card! Don't forget March 18th! although i will have to send mine with kisses to heaven....

Thanks for visiting.x

Frosty cherries...Fruit and flowers

Well I'm really enjoying this milder weather. It makes me think of spring and summer, which sort of influenced the card i made yesterday.

The cherry stamp comes from the Fruit and Flowers set in the new spring mini.
I have used poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade ink. The cardstock is Whisper white and again Poppy Parade.
The background was embossed with the Perfect polka dot embossing folder and the border is made using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch. The Lucky limeade ruffled ribbon adds a bit of contrast.

On each of the cherry images i added  a frosty edge to the square they are stamped on.
I achieved this by inking all four edges with versamark and sprinkling on Stampin' Up!s! Heat and Stick powder. I then, heated the powder with the heat gun before, quickly, sprinkling the edge with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and then reheating again. Voila! a glittery edge which doesn't rub off.
Hopefully you can see the effect here in the next photo...

The sentiment on the card comes from the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set.

I quite enjoyed doing that frosting. I think i will go and see what else i can add frosting to....strawberries, cupcakes,... hmmm.....food..time for lunch i think!

Thanks for visiting.xx

I {heart} hearts....Valentines!

Hello there. I hope you all had a lovely Valentines day yesterday!

Today i have a Valentines day card for you... i know it is a little late for this year now, but i thought i would share it anyway...

I have used the I {heart} hearts stamp set.
The hearts were stamped using Cherry Cobbler (middle one) and Early Expresso ink onto Soft Suede cardstock.
I cut them out and placed a glimmer brad on each one.
The Early Expresso brads come from the basics pack and the red Poppy Parade one comes from the in color pack.

The base card is Early Expresso. I have used my scoreboard to emboss two sets of two horizontal lines about 4cm apart. In between i placed a strip of my favourite paper from the Mocha Morning Speciality set.
Next i wrapped some linen thread around the card a few times and tied a knot at the front. Then i placed my three hearts in position using dimensionals.

Finally the 'Love' sentiment comes from the Pennant Parade stamp set. I inked the stamp with Versamark, stamped onto Expresso cardstock and added Gold embossing powder and heated it with the heat gun.
This was punched out using the Word Window punch and  placed on a piece of Soft Suede cardstock which had been punched out using the Modern label punch.

I am loving these new glimmer brads. I have just ordered the subtles pack and am looking forward to using them as soon as they arrive. And i am eagerly awaiting my free Sale-a-bration sets too.....more cards made with these stamp sets to follow.

Take care and thanks for visiting.

Fresh Vintage

Good morning!
Just look what landed in my craft room!

They do add some colour to what is turning out to be a very dreary and cold few weeks. My husband bought these kites for our children (and himself i suspect!). It did feel like one of them was going to swoop down on me while i was crafting so i had to insist he take them down.
Anyway, back to the crafting!

Today i have some cards made with the Fresh Vintage Sale-a-bration stamp set.

Both cards have a Vanilla base and i have used the new sale-a-bration 'Everyday Enchantment' DSP.
These papers have a distressed edge to them which goes with the current trend in the crafting world.

I have used Lucky Limeade cardstock as the contrasting colour.

The ink pads used are Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral and Pool Party.
All these colours are found in this new DSP set.

The sentiment is from the 'Create a Cupcake' stamp set.
I have used Very Vanilla 1cm Taffeta ribbon (now retired! but always looking for ways to use it up..mustn't waste!).

The top corner has a piece of 'Chantilly' trim with an antique brad added.

My last card is very simple.
I used the same inks to stamp with. The image is matted onto Pool party and poppy Parade cardstock.
I have used the Scallop Border punch for the poppy border.

I will be back soon with some cards made using the stamp sets from the new mini catalogue.

Thanks for visiting.
