and now for something a little different....

Well, for me, that is!

I wanted to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law and decided to use some new stamps and embellishments i have....

This Lotv little fairy is so cute i couldn't resist using her.
I have coloured her in with my promarkers which i had to give a dusting down as i hadn't used them in a while!
I have used textured cardstock for the frames and a die i have in my stash for the swirls. I don't know what company the patterned paper comes from as i have had it so long, but as i am determined to reduce my ever increasing pile of papers i was glad to use it.
The flowers and charm are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon and button are from my hoard of stash.

I have decorated the inside of the card too...

Thank you for visiting my blog today and i hope you get the chance to enjoy the sun.

More Mixed Bunch

Good morning.
I hope you are enjoying this long awaited sun!

I have just a quick post for you today using the 'Mixed Bunch' Stamp set again.

I have stuck to a purple theme again too by using Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum ink and cardstock, on Whisper White.

The Plum layer is embossed with the 'stripes' embossing folder and i have used the 'en francais' stamp for the next layer.
I had to go to my retired Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon as i didn't have a matching alternative and i thoroughly believe in using all my craft stash even if it is retired. 'Oldies' can still be 'goodies' (i hope that will apply to me too as i get steadily older! eek!).

The 'So Grateful'  sentiment comes from the 'Apocethary Art' stamp set.

As always, i like to add a bit of sparkle so i have used a subtles glimmer brad for the centre.

Now i have a choice.. mow the lawn or do some crafting! Guess you know what the answer to that one is!

Thanks for visiting,

Mixed Bunch!

Well it isn't such a mixed bunch as these two cards i have for you today are quite similar.

At our regional training recently there was a card on display, on the Stampin' Up! display tables and unfortunately i have no idea who designed it.
I have based these two cards on a similar theme using the same colours and the First Edition DSP on one of them, but i have changed the design a little on the second card. The first card i designed completely myself, but kept to the same colours.

I just love Wisteria Wonder with Concord crush, but then again i love Concord Crush with anything.

I will have to make the most of this colour because, as it is one of the 'In-colours' from last year, it will be retiring this year. So it will no longer be available once the new main catalogue is released on the 1st October. I will be stocking up Big Time!

Here is the first card in more detail:

I have used the 'Mixed Bunch' stamp set from the new Summer Mini catalogue.

The backing card is Concord Crush. The next layer is Whisper White, which i have stamped with Wisteria Wonder ink and have used my favourite stamp of the set.

The border behind the Wisteria Ruffled Ribbon, is a strip of Concord card which i have embossed with the 'Square lattice' (there it is again!), embossing folder.

Next, i have used the new Framelits Dies to create a Wisteria (Square lattice embossed) layer and a Concord layer.

The main image was stamped again twice using Concord ink and punched out with the new matching Blossom Punch. I have distressed the edges a little with ink. The centre is made using another stamp from the set and punched out with the 3/4" circle punch.

A Concord Glimmer brad finishes the flower off.

The sentiment comes from the ' Pocket Silhouette' stamp set. I used the Word Window and Modern label punches also.

The colours this time were used with Very Vanilla.
The Wisteria layer has been embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

The main image is stamped using Concord ink and layered onto a Concord Blossom punched shape.
This was layered onto a piece of First Edition DSP with Wisteria Ruffled Ribbon as a border. The edges of the DSP have been distressed a little.

The sentiment comes from the new 'Apocethary Art' stamp set, along with the Modern label border stamp which i punched using the matching Modern label punch. This was then placed onto a Scalloped Oval punched piece of Concord card.

The card is finished off with a piece of 'Chantilly Lace' ribbon which i have tied into a bow.

Thankyou for visiting my blog today and i hope you have a lovely weekend.

Tea Shoppe

Good morning.
As promised i have my swaps to show you today. These i made for our Stampin' Up! regional training which i attended on Sunday.
You don't have to make swaps to attend but they are a great way of getting lots of ideas (swaps) in return. Great for when your mojo goes AWOL also, which mine keeps doing!

Here they are:

I did them in two colourways, Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red, both with Very Vanilla.

The background Cherry Cobbler card was matted with a strip of textured card at the top and Cherry stripey DSP on the bottom.
Then i tied a piece of Chantilly lace ribbon around the card.
The next layers are cut using the new Framelits labels dies in the Big Shot. I have embossed the vanilla layer with the SU Vintage wallpaper embossing folder.

Next i stamped the large teacup image from the new  'Tea Shoppe' stamp set using the matching Cherry Cobbler ink. I cut it out with my snips and layered it onto the card.

Finally i stamped the sentiment, which comes from the set also, onto Vanilla cardstock. The label outline is also a stamp in the set. I punched this out using SU's modern label punch and mounted it onto a scalloped oval punched piece of Cherry card.
I used the paper piercer for the dots.

This is the Rose Red version:

Ok, now i have to go reheat my cup-a-soup, which i completely forgot to drink, as i got so engrossed in Pinterest...whoops!

Thanks for visiting and take care,

New Stampin' Up! Starter Kit

Good morning and Happy Sunny Sunday to you all.

Yesterday i had a lovely day at our Regional Stampin' Up! training day in Leamington. It was a day filled with crafting and all things SU, but best of all it was a day spent with friends!

I have my swaps to share with you another time, which is the reason i have been so quiet on the blogging front. I have spent quite a few days busy making them all.

But for now, i have some Stampin' Up! news.

Stampin' Up! have changed their starter kit!

Welcome to the ILWS Stampin' Up! mini Blog Hop

Hi there,
You may have arrived here from the very talented Fiona's Blog. Isn't her work lovely?

I have some cards for you, all made, using the fab new Stampin' Up! products available from today in the Summer Mini catalogue.

It is all very exciting and i hope that i can do justice to these gorgeous new stamp sets, designer papers and tools!

For my first project i have used the new Apocethary Art Stamp set.

I stamped this gorgeous image using Pool Party ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured the flowers in using my Aqua painters and Pool Party Ink.
I used another new tool- the fab Framelits dies to cut the out the image.

The sentiment, also from the set, was stamped onto Pool Party cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed using SU! White embossing powder.

I added some tiny basic pearls to the image and then this was mounted onto some of the new 'Attic Boutique' DSP.

I  used the new Adorning Accents  Bracket Edgelit die to cut the shape at the bottom of the DSP and also on the bottom of the white card it is mounted onto. Notice also, that i have used the new Textured Impressions Bracket embossing folder too to create the embossed edge on the white card.

On the inside of the white card i place a strip of Pool Party cardstock which i have embossed using the perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

Now i love the new Attic Boutique Designer papers so much...there isn't one i don't like, so i had to use them some more......

The colours used for these two cards are Pool Party, So Saffron, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

The image, again Apocethary Art, is stamped using Soft Suede ink and coloured in using my aqua painters and So Saffron Ink. The image was cut out again using the new Framelits dies.
The frame behind the image was made by using a Framelit to cut a piece of So Saffron card to the same size as the main image. I cut the frame in half horizontally and placed them behind the image top and bottom.

The sentiment is stamped onto a banner cut with my paper snips. However i did use my new Stampin' Up! Scoreboard to score the lines for the folds. It was fixed onto the card giving a raised effect.

Behind the main stamped image i have placed a border made using Pool Party cardstock and the Lace Ribbon Border punch.

Basic pearls finish off the card.

For the next card i simply switched the colours round a bit and added So Saffron Taffeta ribbon instead.

For my final card i have used another  new stamp set called ' Bright Blossoms'.

This set is great for quick easy cards and this card was just that.

The background card is Daffodil Delight. I have embossed the next layer of Whisper White using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

The Tempting Turquoise border is made using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny words stamp set and i used the Oval and Scallop Oval punches.

For the main image i used Melon Mambo and Old Olive ink. I used my Framelit dies again to create the mats, embossing the melon one with polka dots again.

I used the itty bitty flower punch for the flower heads and added some rhinestones. Two daffodil brads were also added.

That is all from me today, thankyou for visiting my blog.
I will now pass you on to Amanda who has some gorgeous projects on her blog for you.
